How EcoFlourish works, and where the evidence is clear.

EcoFlourish powered by PURE CV is built on freshwater microalgae technology, with Chlorella vulgaris as a key foundation. Here is what that means in practice, what the science supports, and where we’re careful not to overstate it.

Start with what microalgae actually is.

Chlorella vulgaris is a freshwater microalgae. It’s a single-celled green organism that uses sunlight, water, carbon dioxide, and trace minerals to grow. It has been studied for decades in commercial agriculture, food science, biofuel research, and wastewater treatment.
What makes it interesting agronomically is its composition.
Dried Chlorella vulgaris is approximately 45% protein, 20% lipids, 20% carbohydrates, 5% fiber, and 10% vitamins and minerals. It is rich in essential amino acids, growth-supporting compounds, and bioactive components that can influence plant physiology, root development, and nutrient utilization.
This is well-established science. Chlorella vulgaris has been used as a soil amendment and biological input across Europe and Asia for years. More recently, it has been studied and applied in the Americas, including peer-reviewed and field-trial work demonstrating effects on plant growth, root development, and crop yield across multiple species.

EcoFlourish powered by PURE CV is built on this foundation, with a refined and more concentrated formulation designed for practical use across commercial growing systems.

That is the technology. The next question is what it actually does in the field.

MECHANISM

Four functions, supported by science and observation.

Each function below has a basis in published microalgae research and supporting field observations. None of them are universal guarantees. They are areas where EcoFlourish has been observed to contribute when the protocol matches the crop and system.

Root-zone support

What happens below the surface drives what happens above it. Root structure determines water uptake, nutrient acquisition, anchor strength, and the plant’s ability to access the fertility a grower applies.

Freshwater microalgae have been observed contributing to rhizosphere activity, supporting root development, and influencing the biological environment around the root zone.

In the Canna-Tech cannabis cloning report, Pure-CV Hydro was used as a weekly hand-drench. Taproot formation was observed consistently in 5 to 7 days. Root development time improved from 14 to 21 days to 10 to 15 days. That is a meaningful change in cycle time for a commercial propagation operation.

Plant response

Plant response is the visible side of what is happening biologically. Color, vigor, growth rate, structural strength, and how the plant handles a stress event are all expressions of plant response.

Across multiple crops, EcoFlourish and Pure CV applications have been observed influencing plant response. In the William Bugenhagen blueberry observation over two growing seasons, treated plants were reported to be more plentiful, with thicker leaves, stronger growth, and less pest pressure than untreated plants. In the mixed-site testing of azaleas, beans, peppers, and jalapenos, treated plants were observed showing larger growth, earlier blooming in azaleas, and approximately 50% higher bean yield at harvest compared to untreated plants.

These are grower-reported field observations rather than university trials, and we present them that way. The pattern is consistent enough across crops and conditions to be worth a serious operator’s attention.

Nutrient-use efficiency

Fertility is expensive. The fertilizer you buy only matters if the plant actually uses it.

EcoFlourish is designed to help support nutrient uptake and efficiency, not replace the fertility program. In the Briar View Farms winter wheat case, the test plot received the standard nitrogen program plus two Pure CV applications during the growing cycle. The treated plot averaged 72 bushels per acre compared to 60 in the control. The fertility program did not change. What changed was the addition of a biological companion.

The same principle is reflected in the Revis Farms tomato observation, where EcoFlourish was applied through irrigation at 25 ml per gallon at two-week intervals and the grower reported extended quality and shelf life after harvest.

Nutrient-use efficiency is not a fixed percentage we can promise across every crop. It is a function of what you grow, what fertility you apply, how the product is integrated, and the conditions of the growing cycle. Where the use case fits, the economics can favor adding EcoFlourish as a biological companion.

Stress resilience

The biggest hits to commercial yields come from conditions a grower can’t control. Heat. Drought. Transplant shock. pH swings. Salinity. Hail. Late-season weather. The events that take a strong crop and turn it into a marginal one.

Biostimulants are not weather insurance. But supporting plant response under stress is one of the most-studied use cases for freshwater microalgae in agriculture.

One real example: in a Midwest produce operation, a cabbage crop suffered late-season hail damage. A rescue application of Pure CV reportedly contributed to approximately 25% yield recovery on a crop that would otherwise have been largely lost. Anonymized at the grower’s request, presented as a field observation rather than a quantified trial.

Resilience is the function with the most variability across crops and conditions. It’s also the one that most often justifies a serious trial in a high-value operation, because the downside of a stress event is the difference between a profitable year and a damaged one.

APPLICATION

EcoFlourish doesn’t come with one universal schedule.

The right application protocol depends on the crop, the growing system, the goal, and the application equipment available to the operation.

We do not present a single dilution rate or frequency that applies to every situation. That would be dishonest and would set growers up for the wrong test.

What we can do is share how EcoFlourish and PURE CV have already been used in the field, the rates and methods that have shown results, and what we’d discuss with a grower designing a trial for their specific operation.

For a serious commercial test, the conversation usually covers application method, rate, dilution, frequency, integration with the existing fertility schedule, and how the grower will measure the result. That conversation is part of the first call.

THE HONEST BOUNDARIES

Here is where the evidence is strong, and where it isn’t.

We are careful about claims because the agricultural input industry has trained growers to discount them. We’d rather earn trust by being precise than lose it by overstating.

Where the Evidence Is Stronger

Freshwater microalgae and Chlorella vulgaris have decades of published research supporting their use in agriculture, soil amendment, and plant biostimulation. The category itself is well-established science, not a speculative claim.

EcoFlourish powered by PURE CV has multiple documented commercial cultivation reports, field trials, and side-by-side comparisons across cannabis, potatoes, wheat, tomatoes, blueberries, peppers, and other crops. The pattern across these examples is consistent enough to support serious commercial evaluation.

Where We’re Careful

We do not present EcoFlourish as a universal fertilizer replacement. Different crops and systems require different evaluation.

We do not promise a fixed percentage yield increase across all crops. The numbers we share are tied to the specific trial, crop, and conditions where they were observed.

We do not link EcoFlourish to historical Chlorella vulgaris research as if the formulations are identical. We refer to that body of research as the scientific foundation and tie our product-specific claims to confirmed EcoFlourish and PURE CV examples.

We do not present grower-reported observations as replicated university trials, and we don’t present field trials as universal guarantees. Each piece of evidence is presented at the level of confidence it deserves.

Why This Matters

Serious growers don’t trust products that overpromise. The agricultural input industry has burned that trust enough times that calm honesty is now the rarest and most valuable thing a supplier can offer.

That is the standard we hold ourselves to.
